Are you interested in brightening the life of a senior? We are always looking for volunteers of all ages to serve in various capacities. If you or your organization are interested in making a difference in our community, please contact us today at 205.942.3355.

From shouting out bingo numbers for a fun game to assisting with other community activities, we are always in need of volunteers at our Huntsville assisted living community to serve in various arenas. There are a whole host of reasons why assisted living volunteering is beneficial not only to the residents, but also to you! We’d like to highlight a few for those who maybe be interested in helping out at Regency Huntsville.

  • Broaden your horizons, and learn something new! When you spend time with seniors, you have the unique opportunity to learn from the wealth of their experience. You can learn so much from the older generations, so while you’re helping take care of them, they are sharing knowledge and wisdom with you at the same time.
  • Build incredible relationships. If you enjoy being around people and connecting socially, that’s an obvious benefit you will get out of volunteering at our Huntsville assisted living community. You’ll form special bonds with the residents that will mean the world not only to them, but also to you.
  • Beef up your resume. Volunteering in this capacity can serve as a great way for teens and young adults to figure out if they’re interested in pursuing a career in senior care, nursing, or the like. It’s also a great way to develop many skills that are highly applicable in the workplace across many industries, from organization to fundraising skills to time management. Volunteer time also looks great on a resume, showing prospective employers that you genuinely care about the community, and make time to give back.
  • Improve your health. Not only does volunteering help provide a sense of purpose, but also volunteers can also reap physical, mental, and emotional benefits as they serve in this capacity. Volunteering provides opportunities to get active and build healthy connections, which can be of benefit to the volunteer and the residents alike.
