Stay Cozy and Engaged All Season Long
Fall can be such a refreshing time of year. Crisp air, fresh apples, colorful leaves, and the promise of a season filled with festive holidays and a lot of love. But how can you make the most of the wonderful season of autumn? We’ve got a list of great fall activities for seniors Birmingham that are sure to keep you entertained and joyful through the rest of the year!
ONE– Enjoy some fall-themed coloring pages.
Getting creative is great for the mind and the soul, and coloring is an activity you can enjoy either with friends or while you’re flying solo. Also, did you know that coloring has been closely linked to meditating when it comes to alleviating stress? What’s not to love about that? You can even find lots of downloadable/printable coloring pages online for free.
TWO– Go for a walk outdoors.
If you’re feeling up to it, gather up a few friends and take a stroll outside. The cool, fresh air can work wonders for your mood, and the physical activity will be great for your mind and your body. Plus, this fall activity gives you a chance to see the changing leaves up close and personal. The walk can be as involved as you want it to be. Walk a few blocks and back, or just out to the courtyard to enjoy nature for a while.
THREE– Play a card game.
As the weather gets colder, it’s a great time to focus on indoor pastimes that are fun and engaging but allow you to stay indoors where it’s warm and cozy. Grab a buddy and play a card game or work on a fall-themed puzzle together. You can even set the fall mood by putting a digital roaring fire on the TV while you play!
FOUR– Host a movie night!
Gather a few friends from your hall or building and have a fun movie night. You can choose something perfect for the season, pop some popcorn, and enjoy time with friends in a cozy setting.
FIVE– Start a book club.
If you love to read, fall is almost the best time for it. Get cuddled up under a warm blanket for a little one-on-one time with your favorite novel. Better yet, gather some other residents, and start a Regency book club! You can take turns deciding what books to read, then set times to meet up and discuss them together.
